We love Coconut Water Kefir! It's so easy to make and you don't need to add any extra sugar. There is enough sweetness in the coconut water as is. It tastes best when made with fresh coconuts but will still work with bottled coconut water. We make a batch of this every week and drink it like a tonic first thing in the morning. Anjali loves it too. Start off slow (even slower with babies and kids) and gradually increase your intake as it feels good.
To make this you will need to get your hands on some water kefir grains. These are a naturally occurring culture that looks like small, gelatinous crystals. You only need a small amount to start, they grow quickly and you will soon find you have an excess of them.
