On a recent trip to Bali we fell in love with a traditional herbal elixir known as 'Jamu'. Jamu is beautifully golden in colour and is consumed daily by some Indonesians for health and longevity. Different variations exist depending on the region but our favourite consisted of turmeric, ginger and honey.
So here is our take on Jamu in jelly form. These good for your guts jellies contain grass fed gelatin which has amazing gut healing properties and water kefir which is packed full of enzymes and beneficial bacteria. They are lightly sweetened with honey but feel free to cut it out if you prefer. We used ginger turmeric water kefir for the base (to give it that real Jamu flavour) but feel free to use any flavour of water kefir or kombucha for a different taste variation.
Anjali loves them and they make for a perfect snack. They are also great for kids who won't drink water kefir or kombucha.
